As part of the class, we travelled to Japan to explore and research the culture, aesthetics, and design. The main project of the class was to design a travel guide that didn’t look as any other guide that you’ll see at a store. The travel guide is shown from a personal view. It discusses various topics including design, architecture, landscapes, etc.
The guide book was inspired by Japanese aesthetic which is minimal and clean, with use of the white space around it. The photography was edited in which some objects come out of the photograph. Typography was use with combination of Japanese Hiragana to be cohesive all throughout.
